Terms of service
Last updated 2026-10-08
Agreement
These terms are a contract between you and dere for the dere desktop app, the website at trydere.com and the services behind them (together, "dere"). By creating an account or using dere you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use dere.
What dere is
dere is an AI companion that lives on your desktop: it talks with you in a synthetic voice, remembers what you tell it, can look at your screen when you turn that on, and can take actions on your computer and in connected accounts when you ask it to. Its replies are generated by AI models and can be wrong, incomplete or inappropriate. dere is entertainment and a productivity aid, not a substitute for professional medical, legal, financial or mental-health advice.
Your account
You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent where you live) to use dere. Keep your sign-in details private; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Give us accurate information and keep it current.
Plans and billing
The Basic plan is free and includes a daily allowance of conversation and voice. Premium and Max are paid subscriptions billed monthly or yearly through Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel.
You can change or cancel your plan at any time from your account page. Cancelling stops future charges; you keep paid features until the end of the period you already paid for. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are not refunded for partial periods.
Paid plans include a monthly usage allowance that keeps our costs predictable; normal use stays well under it. We may change prices or plan contents with reasonable notice; changes apply from your next renewal.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use dere for anything illegal, or to harass, threaten, defame or harm anyone.
- Try to generate content that is sexual involving minors, that incites violence, or that infringes someone else's rights.
- Share, sell or automate access to your account, evade plan limits, or scrape or overload the service.
- Reverse-engineer, copy or resell dere or the models and voices behind it.
Actions, screen awareness and connected accounts
When you ask your dere to do something on your computer or in a connected account, the action runs on your instruction and under your account. You are responsible for what you ask it to do and for checking the result. Screen awareness stays off until you turn it on, and connected accounts use read-only access that you can revoke at any time.
Your content
You own what you say to your dere, the personalities you write, the models and audio you import, and the memory your dere keeps about you. You give us the licence we need to store and process that content in order to run dere for you. You are responsible for having the rights to anything you upload, including any voice you clone.
Our content
dere, its software, built-in characters, voices, animations and branding belong to us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use them as part of dere while these terms are in effect.
Third-party services
dere depends on third-party providers for AI models, voice, speech recognition, payments, hosting and account connections. Their availability and terms are outside our control, and features that depend on them can change or stop.
Disclaimers
dere is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, and we do not guarantee that dere will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its output will be accurate or appropriate.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, dere is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or revenue, arising from your use of dere. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or 50 US dollars if you paid nothing.
Termination
You can stop using dere and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or that put the service or other people at risk. Sections that by their nature should survive (your content, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law) survive termination.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Where the law lets us choose, disputes are resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the date at the top of this page shows the current version. Continuing to use dere after a change means you accept it. For material changes we will notify you in the app or by email first.
